Nice 'n Easy

Well, I figured since it's hard - or rather, takes TIME - to go out and exercise...here was a friendly article about how to stay fit and healthy AT HOME. Which is what I prefer. I'm all about staying healthy, but like to find ways around spending a bunch of money each month to go run on a treadmill, when I can do just that - or things similar to that (for FREE) at home. So here's the article:

Beat the bulge!

"Scientific evidence suggests but does not prove that eating 1.5 ounces per day of most nuts, such as pistachios, as part of a diet low in saturated fat and cholesterol may reduce the risk of heart disease."

Stairs may be key in tool in battle of the bulge

Now isn't that just chummy?

I figured I'd beat the year mark by a day for the last post on this blog! Yay for healthy lifestyles!

* Hooray! *

Welcome to a new place for friends to share health tips and recipes! I started a group earlier this year through yahoo, but I think this will be an easier place for this group to gather. However, I will put the good info from our last site on here in archives.

My hope is to strengthen our original group and add many more members so that we can share our ideas on health and recipes that work for us. Especially for including nutritional meals and snacks that your kids love!

Share your experiences and advice. Include any websites or articles that have influenced or motivated you. This group is open to all, but I'm guessing the majority will be mothers. Let us encourage each other to improve the health of our families!

One of my favorite quotes applies to much more than nutrition, but it's applicable here too:
"If the trouble in the world is to be corrected, it will have to begin in the home where the future leaders are trained. What greater contribution can be made than for women to bear children who, through the mother’s influence, can be instrumental in righting some of the wrongs in the world."
